COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school football, it’s final home game of the season tonight for the Coldwater Cardinals as their hopes for making the playoffs for a fifth straight season are still alive. After winning their first three games, the Cardinals have lost three out of four. A team needs six wins to automatically qualify for the MHSAA football playoffs.
Special fundraising will also take place tonight, including a Cadinal Athletic Boosters tailgate party, to raise money for the Community Health Center of Branch County Cancer Center as the conclusion of Purple Week.
Game time tonight is 7:00 p.m. Coverage here on AM-1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB starts at 6:30 p.m.
Hastings won the J.V. game over Coldwater on Thursday night 36-16.

The winner will automatically qualify for the state playoffs. Quincy has won two straight games as the offense has scored 72 points over the last couple of weeks. Springport defeated Quincy in the J.V. game 42-22 on Thursday night. Dalton Messenger rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns for the Orioles.
Concord (1-6 overall, 1-5 Big 8) at Union City (5-2 overall, 4-2 Big 8)
The Chargers will attempt to stop a two game skid and get that elusive sixth victory to qualify for the state playoffs. After being +12 in turnovers in their first five victories, the Chargers have been minus five over the last two weeks when they have lost.
Homer (4-3 overall, 3-3 Big 8) at Bronson (0-7 overall, 0-6 Big 8)
It’s senior night for Bronson as they wrap up their inaugural season in the Big 8.
