QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Village Council is scheduled to discuss the medical marijuana issue during their meeting Tuesday night.
Council members have a resolution in their packet which states they decided not to adopt an ordinance to authorize the location of any medical marihuana facilities within the Village of Quincy as provided by the Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act.
They also have ordinances in their packet which would authorize and regulate the establishment of medical marijuana facilities in Quincy and update the village zoning ordinance for medical marijuana uses.
The Quincy Township Board voted 5-0 last month to not move forward with an ordinance allowing medical marijuana facilities in the township.
Coldwater Township officials decided not to pursue medical marijuana this summer following a series of meetings.
In addition, the Village Council is scheduled to take up an ordinance for the permitting of solar energy facilities in Quincy. Village Manager Eric Zuzga says no one has shown an interest in putting such a facility in the village yet.
