CLEAR LAKE TOWNSHIP, IN (WTVB) – The cause of a fire which destroyed a home in northeast Steuben County late Wednesday afternoon remains under investigation.
Six fire departments from Indiana, Michigan and Ohio had to be called in to battle the fire which broke out at about 5:30 p.m. in the 6900 block of North 925 East which is on the east side of Little Long Lake.
The large two story home and an attached garage were engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. Fire officials say the attached garage had minor smoke and water damage. A neighboring house and a small shed sustained minor damage due to the heat from the fire.
No injuries were reported.
Fremont received mutual aid from the Angola, Orland, Montgomery, Camden and Northwest Township Fire Departments. They also got assistance from the Fremont and Clear Lake Police Departments, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Steuben County REMC, Steuben County EMS and Steuben County Communications.
