COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Fair Manager Jan Murphy told the Fair Association’s annual meeting Wednesday night that the new grandstand was the highlight on the grounds during this years fair.
She also noted that the fair was blessed with nice weather. For a change, the Branch County Fair in early August enjoyed mild temperatures while fairs held in St. Joseph and Hillsdale Counties, which are held in late September, had to put up with record high temperatures near 90 degrees.
Murphy said everything is going well with the Dearth Center but it will need a new roof. She said they are eligible for a $40,000 matching grant which is available from the State of Michigan for the project.
Jeff and Kathy Culy along with Carol Poradzisz were named new honorary members of the Fair Association.
Elected to three year terms on the Fair Board were Colleen Albright, Robert Cline, Chris Donbrock and Poradzisz.
