COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boys soccer team will face Marshall for a third time this year Saturday, but this time in the district finals, after beating Mason 2-0 in the semi finals Thursday night.
After a scoreless first half, Mohamed Saleh scored an unassisted goal 3:25 into the second half. Mohamed Nagi then sealed the win with a goal with 10 minutes to play, assisted by his twin brother Nasser.
Balal Nasser made three saves in goal for his 14th shutout off the season. The win improved the Cardinals overall record to 19-3-1, breaking the school record for wins. Two of the three Coldwater losses came against Marshall during the conference season.
In the other semi final, Marshall beat Charlotte 6-0. The district final will be played Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Coldwater High.
