TRAVERSE CITY, MI (WTVB) – In the high school football, the Coldwater Cardinals are heading to the postseason for a fifth straight season after they stunned Traverse City West 24-9 Thursday night. West was unbeaten and ranked fifth in Division One in this weeks Michigan Associated Press High School Football poll.
After falling behind 6-0 after the first quarter, the Cardinals took control by scoring three second quarter touchdowns. Damon Beckhusen scored from six yards out and that was followed by a 13 yard touchdown by Logan Fee and a 18 yard TD pass from Cole Targgart to Brady Beckhusen.
Coldwater had a 317-212 edge in total offense which included 245 yards on the ground. Nathan Spray rushed for 92 yards. Fee had five tackles to lead the Cardinals on defense.
Coldwater will take a 6-3 record into the post-season.

Union City 44, Addison 20
The Union City Chargers may have earned a home game for the first round of the playoffs with a 44-20 victory at Addison. The Chargers will go into the postseason with a 7-2 record. Austin Mosher rushed for 182 yards and three touchdowns. Josh Watson passed for 135 yards and two TD’s. Mosher and Larson Kever had the touchdown receptions. Deacon Dey led the Chargers on defense with 13 tackles.
Grass Lake 24, Quincy 14
The Quincy Orioles will have to play the waiting game to see if they made the postseason after they lost at Grass Lake 24-14. The Orioles finished the regular season at 5-4.
Bronson 52, Vandercook Lake 21
Bronson got their first victory of the season as Ethan Cossairt rushed for 270 yards and three touchdowns. Caleb Stayner rushed for 109 yards and Cole Houtz had two touchdowns.
