COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The rainfall in Coldwater for the month of October is going to be close to the amount of rain for the four previous months combined.
Through Monday, the website www.accuweather.com says 3.98 inches of rain has fallen in Coldwater since October 1, 2017. That total includes .89 of an inch which fell Monday.
To show how dry it’s been this summer around the area, only 5.32 inches of rain was measured in Coldwater between June 1 and the end of September.
The lack of rain led the U.S. Drought Monitor to include Branch County in an area that was considered to be abnormally dry.
Meanwhile, a Flood Advisory is in effect for Calhoun and three other counties until Tuesday evening, where rainfall has been measured at one to two inches since Sunday.
