COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Area Food Pantry’s annual Feeding Branch County holiday project has received a major funding boost. The food distribution for this year is less than a month away and yesterday, the Coldwater Noon Rotary Club made a significant donation to help those in need during the holiday season.
At Tuesday’s Rotary meeting, the club presented a check for $3,000 to the Pantry. The money will pay for around two thirds of the cost of the turkeys that will be part of the meals provided to an expected 1,200 Branch County families next month.
Food and monetary donations fund the project which will take place Saturday, November 18, 2017. The Food Pantry decided for 2017 to combine its Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes into a single distribution for the convenience of the recipients of the meals.
The Food Pantry, which is a completely volunteer organization, is accepting food donations for the holiday project through November 11 while your donations of money are appreciated at any time. For further information you can call the Branch Area Food Pantry at (517)279-0966.
