COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Work is continuing as the former Midwest Foundry site on Hooker Street is being converted to a solar array project.
Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker told the City Council Monday night that the seven acre property has been leveled. The fencing has also been installed and the site has been turned over to Next Era for installation of the racking and solar panels.
Meanwhile, the painting of the downtown decorative lampposts has begun after much delay. Commercial Painting of Quincy is the contractor for the project. The project is being financed by the City’s Downtown Development Authority
Baker also reported that nearly 700 people toured the Coldwater Recreation Department’s Haunted Forest last weekend, and that as of Monday 131 youngsters have signed up for the fall youth basketball instructional league for both boys and girls that begins next month.
