BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – A student at Pennfield Schools faces sanctions, including possible permanent expulsion, for bringing a loaded hand gun to school. Three male students reportedly spotted the gun in the backpack of another student in the weight room at the school and alerted security. Deputies were called and the 14-year-old student was arrested and booked into the Calhoun County Juvenile home. The student reportedly told a member of the security staff that he had been threatened by students from another school, and it was for self-protection. No lockdown was triggered because the situation was contained.
