UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Village Council voted this week to dedicate Heritage Cultural Park in Marv Carman’s memory.
Carman is credited with doing a large amount of work in bringing the Rick Mears Amphitheater in the park to the Village as well as the library next door.
Carman was an active member of the Union City community. He was named the Union City Citizen of the Year in 2008.
He passed away in September at the age of 76.
Village President William Avery said during the meeting it was a well deserved honor.
The Village will start work soon on the signage to commemorate the change.
