COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The suspect in an August 16, 2017 police pursuit and two resulting traffic accidents on Coldwater’s east side was sentenced Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
31-year old Larry Foster, Jr. of Muncie, Indiana was ordered to serve two to five years in prison after he entered no contest pleas to fleeing from a police officer, assaulting a police officer and attempted unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle.
Michigan State Police pursued Foster’s car on northbound I-69 before the pursuit went onto US 12 at Coldwater.
According to troopers, Foster headed east on US 12 and struck a vehicle making a turn, and that caused his car to leave the road and go into a ditch.
Foster jumped out from behind the wheel with the engine running and the car still in gear.
Police report Foster tried but failed twice to steal cars from a couple of nearby business parking lots before being arrested.
