COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The next two weekends will feature a number of events in the area to help kick off the Christmas season.
The Union City Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its annual Santa Parade tonight. The parade will step off at 7:00 p.m. from Robbins Auto and end at High Street. Santa Claus will be in the lobby of Southern Michigan Bank & Trust following the parade. For a donation of a non-perishable food item, children can have their picture taken with Santa.
The annual Christmas Parade in Coldwater will be held next Saturday, December 2 at 7:00 p.m.
This evening, the Tibbits Opera House continues its Classic Film Series with the free showing of the holiday movies “Miracle on 34th Street” and “Holiday Inn” beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The Kellogg Community College choirs will perform a special “Sounds of the Season” concert in Coldwater next weekend.
KCC’s “Sounds of the Season 2017: Christmas Treasures & Community Messiah Sing” will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, December 2 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on East Chicago. The event is free and open to the public, though a freewill offering to support KCC music initiatives will be collected.
The concert will be led by KCC’s Branch County Community Chorus. There will also be performances by the KCC Choral Union; the college’s Kellogg Singers; guest musical artist the Bel Canto Singers; a six-voiced vocal ensemble led by Gay Shaw; and student soloists.
The evening will begin with an audience singalong of traditional holiday carols.
The second part of the concert will feature several choral selections from Handel’s “Messiah.”.
