COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -The Branch County Board of Canvassers will meet this morning to conduct a recount of the 4th Ward Coldwater City Council race in which Scott Houtz defeated Dan Corwin 143-140.
Corwin not only demanded a recount of that race but he also sought a recount of the results from Girard Township in the Coldwater Community School District millage bond proposal.
Branch County Clerk Terry Kubasiak says Corwin asked for the recounts because he claimed the county’s new voting machines did not count all of the ballots.
Girard Township voters barely approved the school question 155-153. Coldwater school district voters passed the question 1,867 to 1,747
