LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan State Police will be joining motor carrier officers from State Police agencies in Indiana, Illinois and Ohio in focusing their enforcement on I-94 and other major freeways starting Monday and going until next Friday, December 8.
Michigan’s operation is dubbed “Eyes on 94” and they are seeking to lower the number of commercial vehicle crashes along the I-94 corridor.
Police will focus on violations by commercial vehicles that are most likely to contribute to a crash.
The Michigan State Police is taking part following an increase last year in the number of fatal crashes involving commercial motor vehicles.
The “Eyes on 94” initiative is part of the statewide Drive Toward Zero Deaths traffic safety campaign.
