COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With Joe Lopez retiring at the end of July 2018, the Branch Intermediate School District has officially begun the search for a new superintendent.
The BISD Board of Education held a special meeting Tuesday with consultants from the Michigan Leadership Institute to plan out the search.
A tentative timeline calls for a preliminary posting to go up soon with a finalized version including the candidate profile to be released in the middle of January 2018.
The application deadline is set for February 16, 2018.
The board will then announce the candidates to be interviewed February 21 with the first round of interviews on February 26 and 27, 2018. The second round of interviews will follow on March 5 and March 6.
Possible site visits are scheduled for the week of March 12.
It was also discussed during Tuesdays meeting that it would be important to get feedback from local districts, BISD staff and the community during the process. A survey will be posted on the district’s website. The board will also gather data through focus groups and a community forum.
