COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Last night in girls basketball, Coldwater remained unbeaten as they defeated Branch County rival Bronson 77-39. The Cardinals settled the issue in the first half as they built a 43-14 lead. Carlee Crabtree scored a game-high 18 points for Coldwater while Tyler Scheid had 11 points. Malorie Rzepka and Samantha Rodesiler both had nine points. Scheid and Emilee Smoker both had six rebounds. Payton Robinson led Bronson with 10 points while Kiera Lasky had nine points. Scheid and Lasky shared our McDonald’s Player of the Game honors. Coldwater is now 5-0 while Bronson dropped to 3-2.
Coldwater also won the JV game over Bronson 48-24. Bailey Burkhardt led Coldwater with 14 points while Autumn Sunderland added seven points and five rebounds.
Union City improved to 4-2 as they edged Climax-Scotts 29-28 thanks to an Autumn Carpenter layup at the final buzzer. Paige Kline led the Chargers with seven points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots. Allison Adams grabbed nine rebounds while Carpenter, Danielle Cross and Kiley Spenelli each had six points.
Quincy dropped to 5-2 following their 64-28 loss at Adrian Lenawee Christian. Katie Rathbun led the Orioles with eight points. Rathbun and Allison Parshall both had four rebounds. Cailyn Cook had four assists.

Both the Quincy boys and girls bowling teams defeated East Jackson on Monday. The Quincy teams split the Baker games with East Jackson, winning just 4 of the 10 points possible in that portion of the competition. But the Orioles came alive during the Singles portion of the match. The girls won their match 16-14 as they took six of the 10 head to head matches. High games for the Quincy girls belonged to Cassie White with a 197 and a 162; Carlie McKinley with a 149, and Kezia Wilson with a 138.
The Quincy boys recorded their first win of the season with a 23-7 victory. High games for the boys were Brody Glei with a 193 and a 161, Cody Smith with a 182 and a 167, Cameron White with a 145, and Caden Moore with a 144. The boys won nine of their 10 head to head matches in the singles portion of the match.
