BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) -The Coldwater Cardinal boys basketball varsity team held off a second half rally from Detroit Douglas Wednesday afternoon as they posted a 64-55 victory in the Chuck Turner Holiday Classic at Battle Creek Central’s Fieldhouse.
The Cardinals built a 31-13 halftime lead before the Hurricanes got to within four points in the third quarter but their rally fell short as Coldwater improved to 3-1.
McDonald’s Player of the Game Gage McGuire led the Cardinals with 23 points and six rebounds while Brady Beckhusen added 17 points and seven rebounds. Dylan Targgart had 14 points and nine rebounds.
The Cardinals next game will be on January 5, 2018 at Jackson Northwest.
