ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – Heat tape is being listed as the cause of an electrical fire Friday night which destroyed a mobile home in the Ju Le An Mobile Home Community on the west side of Angola and left a family homeless.
A woman and two of her children managed to get out when the fire broke out.
The Angola Fire Department reports the mobile home at 1205 West Mill was filled with fire and heavy smoke when Angola firefighters arrived just after 8:00 p.m.
It took them just over a half hour to get the fire under control.
No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $50,000.
Jevnee Walker and her three children between the ages of two and nine lost everything in the blaze. A friend says they had no insurance. A GoFundMe page has been set up in hopes of raising $5,000 to help the family get through this difficult time.
