COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The bitterly cold weather from the past week has passed, but motorists across Branch County are having to deal with a mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain Monday. Despite the slippery road conditons, all couny schools are open Monday, which for most is the first day back after the Christmas holiday break.
Some schools in Hillsdale County are closed Monday, with a two hour delay for the Pansophia Academy, Tekonsha and Colon school districts.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for a portion of southern lower Michigan, nothern Indiana, and northwest Ohio, including Branch County, until 11:00 a.m. Monday.
According to the NWS, a mixture of snow and freezing drizzle is expected, with total snow accumulations of 3 to 4 inches, as well as some ice accumulation.
Monday’s high temperature is predicted to be 33 degrees, with a high Tuesday of 32, a high Wednesday of 42 degrees, and possibly warming up to the upper 40’s Thursday.
