INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WTVB) – There maybe less people from Indiana traveling to Branch County to purchase alcohol on Sundays in the near future.
After being discussed for many years, the Indiana State Legislature is taking steps to legalize Sunday alcohol sales in the Hoosier State.
The Public Policy Committee in the Indiana Senate has voted unanimously to make carryout sales of alcoholic beverages legal between 12 noon and 8:00 p.m. on Sundays.
The bill will go before the full Senate with a second reading expected next week.
It’s supported by an agreement made between the Indiana Association of Beverage Retailers and the Indiana Retail Council in November.
