NOBLE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – An electrical issue with a vent fan is being listed as the cause of a mobile home fire late Friday morning at 1097 West Southern Road. Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber says his department was dispatched by Branch County 911 at around 11:30 a.m..
They found heavy smoke when they arrived. Wilber says the main body of the fire was contained to an area between the mobile home roof and an additional roof that was built over the top of the mobile home.
The homeowners were inside when the fire broke out but they got out uninjured.
The interior on one end of the home sustained heavy smoke and water damage.
Fire crews were on scene for around two and a half hours.
Damage was estimated at $45,000. Due to slippery road conditions which limited the speed of responding units, the Lakeland Fire Department was called for a tanker at the onset of the fire.
Lifecare Ambulance, Consumers Energy, and the Branch County Road Commission also responded to the scene.
