COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Employees at Century Bank and Trust recently paid money to wear jeans on Friday and that led to over $1,800 being raised for the Branch County Community Foundation’s Foster Care Enrichment Fund.
The fund was established last year thanks to an initial donation from Women Who Care of Branch County.
There are currently 106 children under the age of 17 who are in foster care in Branch County.
These children have been removed from their parents and placed under court care for a number of reasons.
With changes in federal funding, there is no money available to help with extracurricular activities in Branch County. That’s where the Enrichment Fund steps in.
