COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – LifeCare Ambulance recently affiliated with Ann Arbor-based Emergent Health Partner.
The corporate merger became effective January 1, 2018. Branch County 9-1-1 Director Tim Miner told County Commissioners Thursday that from a local standpoint you will see very few operational changes.
LifeCare was formed in 1983 and serves Branch along with six other counties in southwest Michigan.
Emergent serves seven counties mostly in southeast Michigan.
The merger means 1.3 million residents in 16 Michigan counties will be covered by the companies.
LifeCare’s headquarters will stay in Battle Creek. In addition, the LIfeCare board wil continue to govern the LifeCare operations and includes Connie Winbigler, Sally Whitten and Chuck Lillis from Branch County.
