COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – 25 Branch County wrestlers will be competing in the M.H.S.A.A. Individual Regional Tournaments Saturday.
The Branch County contingent includes three district champions in Division Four. Union City’s Everett Korn won the title at 130 pounds during the districts last Saturday at Bloomingdale. Bronson’s Chase Gibson at 215 pounds and Ben Modert at 103 pounds won District championships last Saturday at Lawton.
Coldwater qualified eight wrestlers for the Division Two regionals at Vicksburg. They were Marshall Hoard (103), Zeke Nowicki (112), Zoe Nowicki (112), Nick Buchanan (119), Hamza Muflihi (125), Carter Hoard (140), Zach Miller (171) and Zach Gipple (215),
Quincy qualified two for the Division Three regionals at Williamston. Kevin Hartman (215) and Chandler Locke (152) will be representing the Orioles.
Union City qualified five for the Division Four regionals at Carson City-Chrystal. Besides Korn, the Chargers will be represented by Nick Collyer (112), Bradley Russell (119), Colton Johns (171) and Brayton Burgett (285).
Bronson had 10 qualify for the Division Four regionals at Hudson. Besides Gibson and Modert, the Vikings will be represented by Brendan Withington (119), Isaac Tappendan (140), Creo Smith (152), Roy Wholers (152), Cole Houtz (160), Ruger Ranney (160), Justin Blankenship (171) and Alex Arlas (189).
