QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Village Council approved a pair of contracts Tuesday night for Rural Development water main improvements.
Parrish Excavating was awarded a $738,000 contract for a project that will cover improvements along East Liberty as well as at Fulton and Orange. A total of seven bids were received with Parrish submitting the lowest. The engineer’s estimate for the project was about $800,000.
Meanwhile, the Rothlenberger Company of Concord submitted the low bid of over $913,000 for a project that will cover work along West Jefferson, Pleasant and Hewitt. They were among eight bidders for the project. Engineers estimated the work would cost over $1.3 million.
A grant from the Michigan Department of Agriculture was submitted to add water main replacement on North Main from Cole-Broughton which would replace the last section of a four inch water main. The work will be added to the list of projects if the grant is received.
