QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Community Schools Board of Education has voted to put a renewal of the district’s sinking fund millage on the ballot in November 2018.
Voters in the district will be asked to renew the current rate of 1.5 mills for the next five years, from 2019 until 2023.
The millage needs to be renewed since it will expire at the end of this year.
According to the proposal language, the sinking fund would be used “for the purchase of real estate for sites for, and the construction or repair of school buildings and all other purposes authorized by law.”
Meanwhile, applications are still being accepted for the district’s next Superintendent. The deadline is March 30 with interviews starting April 17, 2018. It is hoped a new Superintendent will be in place by July.
