COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan State Police have arrested a 23-year-old Coldwater man following an investigation into alleged online criminal sexual conduct involving a young girl.
Troopers along with members of the Coldwater Police Department went to a home on Harrison Street Wednesday afternoon to conduct a search warrant.
The allegations involved the phone application, KIK.
The State Police says the suspect has allegedly molested and took sexually explicit photos of an elementary aged female for the last six months.
The suspect then allegedly shared the photos to interested parties online. Investigators say the abuse continued until a week ago.
Troopers say they gained a confession from the suspect at the scene.
The young female has been placed in a safe environment by Branch County Department Human Services-Child Protective Services. The suspect has been lodged at the Branch County Jail on charges of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and Manufacturing Child Sexually Abusive Material. His name is being withheld pending an arraignment in Branch County District Court.
