HASTINGS, MI (WTVB) – It’s the final night of the regular season for the Coldwater girls basketball team while the Coldwater boys have a chance to claim an outright Interstate 8 championship at Hastings.
The Coldwater girls need a win and a loss by Jackson Northwest at Parma Western in order for the Cardinals to wind up tied in the final standings.
The Coldwater boys have a one game lead over Parma Western heading into their final regular season I-8 conference game.

In JV boys action Thursday, Coldwater topped Hastings 43-37. Leading scorers for Coldwater were Jaxon Janusz with 18 points and Tyler Scherer with 12 points.
Union City’s JV boys defeated Springport 43-40 as Haiden Bigelow had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Chargers.
In girls action, Coldwater’s JV squad beat Hastings 33-20. Coldwater finishes the season with a 12-7 record. Valy Yaldo led the Cardinals with 11 points.
The Coldwater freshman girls beat Hastings 48-47. Alyssa Bach had14 points, including 2 clutch free throws, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists. Abby Herman had 10 points and 9 rebounds, and Lacy Janusz had 10 points.
