COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An undercover Michigan State Police investigation in Branch County that started last summer brought the arrest of a suspected meth dealer following a weekend traffic stop in the City of Coldwater.
28-year old Brian Cancino of North Behnke Road, Coldwater Township, was arraigned yesterday in Branch County District Court on a charge of delivery and manufacture of methamphetamine. He also faces a drug paraphernalia charge after his car was pulled over Saturday night by Coldwater Police for improper lane usage.
A background check by officers found Cancino was the subject of a Michigan State Police felony drug warrant issued last Thursday. During his arrest, police say Cancino admitted he has had on-going meth addiction issues.
Yesterday at his arraignment, bond was set at $25,000 and Cancino is due back in Branch County District Court for a probable cause hearing March 6, 2018.
