DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – Bronson’s Ben Modert won the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division Four wrestling championships at 103 pounds Saturday at Ford Field in Detroit. Modert completed a 53-3 season with a 5-1 decision over A.J. Baxter of Clinton.
Chase Gibson finished second at 215 pounds in Division Four as lost to Eric Cassiday of Beaverton in the finals 4-0. Gibson finished 53-2, and both losses were to Cassiday.
Two other Branch County wrestlers earned trips to the podium. Union City’s Colton Johns finished fourth at 171 pounds in Division Four while Coldwater’s Nick Buchanan finished sixth at 119 pounds in Division Two.
