STEUBEN COUNTY, IN (WTVB) – A 23 year old man from La Crosse, Wisconsin was arrested by the Indiana State Police on the Indiana Toll Road Sunday in Steuben County for being in possession of cocaine and a firearm.
A vehicle driven by Rymone Taylor was stopped for speeding as troopers say he was approaching the toll gate at the 153 mile marker in excess of 45 miles an hour.
A trooper became suspicious after smelling the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the passenger compartment of Taylor’s vehicle.
Further investigation and a subsequent search of the vehicle turned up between four and five grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, a .380 caliber Glock handgun and more than $9,500 in U.S. currency. Taylor was taken to the Steuben County Jail and is preliminarily being charged with Possession of Cocaine with a Firearm, Dealing Cocaine with a Firearm, and Possession of Paraphernalia
The Steuben County Sheriff Department assisted the Indiana State Police.
