BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Sparks from a grinder is being listed as the probable cause of a fire Tuesday morning which burned down a pole barn west of Matteson Lake and destroyed its contents.
The blaze 284 Butz Road was reported at about 9:00 a.m..
Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber says there were flames coming from the eaves when the owner noticed the barn next to his house was on fire.
Losses were estimated at $20,000 for the building and $10,000 for the contents.
No injuries were reported.
Crews were on scene for two hours and 15 minutes. The Sherwood Fire Department provided a tanker as part of a request for mutual aide.
A Lifecare ambulance crew also responded.
