BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A statewide tour to stop bullying and raise awareness of autism will make another stop in Branch County on Thursday.
The Relentless Tour, which is being put on by the Michigan Department of Civil Rights at over 600 schools in Michigan, will be at the Bronson Junior and Senior High School building at 8:00 a.m. and at Ryan Elementary School at 9:30 a.m..
Motivational speaker and former Michigan State basketball player Anthony Ianni will talk to students with autism and the effects of bullying. He was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of four and was bullied during his younger days.
Ianni became the first individual with autism to play Division One college basketball at Michigan State.
A press release issued by the Michigan Department of Civil Rights states that between 65 and 90 percent of those with autism have experienced bullying at some point in their lives.
