GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) – The two teams that defeated Coldwater during this past season both lost on Saturday in the M.H.S.A.A. Girls Basketball State Finals in Grand Rapids.
East Lansing, which defeated Coldwater in the Class A Regional Finals, lost to Saginaw Heritage 57-36 in the Class A final.
Meanwhile, Interstate 8 champion Jackson Northwest lost to Detroit Country Day 64-48 in the Class B championship game. Sydney Shafer led the Mounties with 22 points. Northwest defeated Coldwater twice in overtime during the regular season.
In the other state title games on Saturday, Detroit Edison PSA defeated Ypsilanti Arbor Prep 51-34 for the Class C title while Adrian Lenawee Christian won the Class D title over Chassell 57-36.
