DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – Bacari Alexander will not return for a third season as the head basketball coach at Detroit Mercy. Alexander was fired by the school yesterday just two years into a reported five-to-seven-year deal worth up to $450,000 annually.
Alexander served a seven-game suspension earlier this year for allegedly getting into a verbal altercation with a player at a practice. During his tenure the Titans were 16-47 and Alexander’s .254 winning percentage is the worst in UDM history.
Jermaine Jackson senior has been named interim head coach.
