COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Spot repairs to the plaster of the competition pool at the Dr. Robert W. Browne Aquatic Center in Coldwater are done.
City Manager Keith Baker told the Coldwater City Council Monday night the patches have been repaired and the refilling of the pool has begun.
But it will still be a couple of weeks before the pool will be available to the public.
Baker said there’s a process for filtering the water because of the repairs to the plaster. The water temperature also has to be brought up before it can reopen.
The warm water therapy pool will continue to be open to the public and for classes.
The therapy pool was closed last September due to a problem with the pool’s plaster surface delaminating, thus making it unusable. The contractor wound up having to re-plaster that pool.
The company which installed the lap pool will be responsible for repairs since it was under warranty.
Those who wish to freeze their membership while the lap pool is closed can call (517) 279-5920.
