COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A ceremony will be held for the third straight year Thursday morning at the Branch County Courthouse which will honor Vietnam veterans.
The brief ceremony starts at 9:00 a.m. at the Courthouse flagpole. It’s being hosted once again by the Coldwater chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution.
The ceremony is one of many held throughout the country on Thursday.
President Obama signed a proclamation in 2012 which declares March 29th as Vietnam Veterans Day.
It gives Americans a chance to thank and recognize Vietnam Vets for their service.
The date marks the day the final troops helicoptered out of Vietnam. Michigan lost 2,650 men in the Vietnam War.
