COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Commission on Aging Board has chosen ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital to be the lunch service vendor at the Burnside Senior Center.
After recently putting out a Request for Proposals, ProMedica and Tasty Twist of Coldwater submitted bids for the program.
ProMedica was selected by the C.O.A. Board during their meeting March 20.
Branch County Commission on Aging Executive Director Amy Duff said in a letter to the Branch County Board of Commissioners that ProMedica offered a menu with more choices and had a lower cost.
Commissioners voted during their work session Thursday to bring formal approval forward to their next regular meeting Tuesday, April 10, 2018.
The lunch service is being brought back at the Burnside Senior Center after many patrons expressed a great interest in having it.
The program will be supervised by existing staff and implemented by volunteers.
To start off with, lunch will be offered at 11:30 a.m. three days a week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday because Duff says those are their busiest activity days.
R.S.V.P.’s for the program will be required.
