COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Backers of the proposed Coldwater to Quincy linear trail have applied for about $4.3 million in grant funds over the last week.
They say a local fundraising effort needs to start to insure the full amount is awarded.
If you are interested in joining this effort, please message Quincy Village Manager Eric Zuzga at eric.zuzga@quincy-mi.org.
An organizational meeting is expected to be held later this month.
An exact date and time will be announced at a later time.
In an effort to save money on the project, volunteers will spend three days clearing the railroad right of way on the proposed route.
Both the Village of Quincy and the City of Coldwater have applied to get $300,000 Michigan DNR trust fund grants for the project.
