COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Quincy man was arraigned Thursday in Branch County District Court following a physical confrontation this week with a Michigan State Police Trooper.
18-year-old Ezra Aaron Brown has been charged with assault, resisting and obstruction of a police officer. Bond has been set at $25,000. Brown is scheduled to appear for a probable cause hearing April 12 with a preliminary exam set for April 19, 2018.
According to court documents, Brown allegedly grabbed Trooper Cody King’s throat while he was being placed under arrest in a stolen car investigation.
King suffered a strained neck.
Brown is also being held without bond until his next court date for violating his probation.
