COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A brief taste of spring will give way to storms and colder weather this weekend, with temperatures dropping from the low 70’s Thursday to the mid 40’s this weekend around Branch County.
Roger Morgenstern at Consumers Energy says they are bracing themselves for ice storms north of this area, strategically placing tractor trailers filled with repair supplies in the region.
National Weather Service forecasters say six counties near Saginaw Bay and the thumb area could see an half inch of ice.
Morgenstern says they are consulting with forecasters but it’s impossible to say with any certainty where the worst of the storm will hit.
The stormy weather is part of a larger system that is expected to cause problems from the Gulf States to the Canadian border…
While we may not see the snow and the ice, this area will see a return of colder temperatures and heavy rain with up to two to three inches expected to fall, before snow showers return Monday.
