UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – An inactive hand grenade that was dug up by a dog is resting quietly and safely at the Union City Police Department.
The Village of Union City said on its Facebook page that the grenade was not live when the dog found it Thursday in the backyard of a home on North Broadway Street and gave it to its owner as a “gift”.
The surprised owner immediately called Union City Police.
The village says while it appears to have been there for quite some time, there is no word on how it got there or exactly how old it is.
