COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council will be asked Monday night to approve a resolution to support an application by the city engineering staff for repairs to the South Clay Street Bridge in 2021.
MDOT is accepting new applications for Local Bridge Program funds.
An inspection has found that the South Clay Street Bridge is in deteriorating condition.
The resolution is needed to commit the city to its ten percent share of the project which comes out to just over $16,000.
MDOT would pay for 90 percent of the work which comes out to about $306,000.
Also on a light agenda Monday, the council will be asked to award the bid for the second phase of the Chandler Plaza parking lot project. Hoffman Brothers submitted the low base bid of about $838,000, as well as the low alternate bid of over $855,000.
The work is being done in two phases and is expected to wrap up in late October 2018.
