PARMA, MI (WTVB) – In high school track and field Friday, Coldwater split an Interstate 8 meet at Parma Western. Coldwater won the boys meet 88-75 while Parma won the girls meet 86-77.
Coldwater winners in the boys meet were Adam Bailey (200 and 300 hurdles), Shuaib Aljabaly (800 and 1600), Kyle Foulk (3200), Dylan Targgart (discus) and Cole Targgart (shot put). The Cardinals won three out of four relays, the 800, the 1600 and the 3200.
Coldwater winners in the girls meet were Kathy Potter (800 and 3200), Jasmine Wellet (100 hurdles and the 300 hurdles), Kaci White (shot put and discus) and Claire Sheppard (high jump and long jump). Parma took three out of the four relays. The lone Coldwater win came in the 400 relay.
Both of the Union City teams finished 12th at the 16-team Hastings Invitational. Union City’s Bracy Swift won the girls long jump with a distance of 15 feet, 4 1/2 inches.
