COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A celebration of Mary Smith’s long and joyful life will be held this Saturday at the Tibbits Opera House.
Smith passed away last November at the age of 102. Her two sons Jim and Tom, along with their families, are inviting the community and her friends to join them in the celebration.
Doors at the Tibbits Opera House will open and the family will be on hand at 10:00 a.m. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
A gathering of friends and refreshments will begin at 12 noon.
Smith served as a hospital volunteer, taught Sunday school, was a Cub Scout den mother, president of the band parents organization, president of the PTA at Washington elementary, was active in the medical assistants association, a passionate supporter of Michigan State’s athletic teams, was an avid Republican and was a driving force in the Tibbits Opera House restoration fund drive.
