BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – In high school boys golf, Coldwater traveled to the Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek to participate in the Tom Collins Gull Lake Invitational Thursday and came in eighth place out of the 19 teams that were participating. Marshall won the event with a team score of 315 while Coldwater shot a 345.
Coldwater was led by Alec Keplinger with a fine round of 76 good enough for fourth place overall in the tournament. Grey Skudlarick shot an 88, Kyle Herman had an 89, Noah Waterbury carded a 92 and Joe Hicks rounded out Coldwater’s scoring with a 101.
Coldwater will participate in the Tiger Invitational this Saturday at the Binder Park Golf Course in Battle Creek.
Quincy participated in an invitational meet at The Medalist in Marshall in which teams of two competed for top honors overl 18 holes. The top finishers for Quincy were Lawson Tell and Brody Glei as they finished in second and third place.

Legg Middle School girls tennis team lost at Harper Creek 7-1. The only point for Legg came from the number one doubles team of Ally Aker and Emmett Woodcox.

Madison Hinds had the hat trick for the Orioles while Mariah Wiley scored twice. Katie Rathbun, Emily Hollenbaugh and Hannah Kaser also scored for the Orioles who will host Coldwater Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. for the annual Battle of the Birds..
