MATTESON TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriffs Department has confirmed following an autopsy that the body found in a wooded area near Parham Road north of Lindley Road on Friday was 40 year old Brad Alan Washburn of Bronson, who had been reported as missing in early March.
The body was discovered by a farmer who was tilling the land. The autopsy preliminary report did not show any signs of trauma, the preliminary report shows that Washburn died from exposure. Toxicology reports are to follow at a later time.
Washburn’s vehicle was found along Parham Road February 21, 2018, stuck in the ditch, about 130 yards from where he was found Friday.
Bronson Police Department announced on March 6th they were seeking assistance from the public in their attempts to find Washburn. At that time, they said his whereabouts were unknown. But specfic details of his disappearance were not released because Bronson Police Chief Stephen Johnson said they wanted to protect the integrity of the investigation.
This incident remains under investigation by the Branch County Sheriff’s Office, and they were assisted by Bronson Police Department.
