COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Friends and family of Mary Smith celebrated her life on Saturday at the Tibbits Opera House.
She lived in Coldwater from 1933 until her death last November at the age of 102. During her 84 years as a Coldwater resident, she touched the lives of so many people not only in the city but throughout Branch County.
Pastor Jim Erwin officiated Saturday’s service and he said Smith was one of a kind and was so full of life.
Branch County Judge David Coyle said Smith died to young and she had a way of making you feel important.
Congressman Tim Walberg told the story about when he gave Smith a ride on his motorcycle when she was 96 years old in 2011.
Saturday’s celebration was hosted by Smith’s two sons Jim and Tom and their families.
