QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The death of a woman over the weekend in Quincy is under investigation while a man is facing multiple counts of obstructing police.
Quincy Police Chief Jeremy Burch says an autopsy will be conducted on the deceased woman at Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids to determine the official cause of death.
Burch says investigators are trying to determine whether or not 30-year old Thomas Stump had anything to do with her death.
The Michigan State Police is assisting Quincy Police with the investigation.
Stump was arraigned Monday in Branch County District Court after being arrested by Quincy Village Police while he was hiding under a bed at his residence on West Chicago Street in Quincy.
The charges include destroying evidence, witness dissuading and making a false police report.
Bond for Stump was set at $15,000 with a probable cause hearing scheduled for May 8, 2018.
